German manufacturer TUXEDO has released the Stellaris 16 Gen8 Intel, a Linux desktop replacement laptop carrying Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus silicon. Buyers can equip the machine with Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics alongside 3 high refresh 2560x1600 display choices including Mini LED and OLED panels. Base models start at 2350 euros before tax with RTX 5070 Ti graphics.
The aluminum chassis weighs between 2.6 and 2.8 kilograms depending on configuration. Internal thermal hardware relies on a 3 fan cooling system capable of delivering 240W of sustained total system power. The laptop also supports the Aquaris external liquid cooling box for reduced temperatures and quieter operation under load. Battery capacity sits at 99Wh to comply with airline travel limits.
TUXEDO offers 3 distinct 16 inch screens sharing a WQXGA resolution of 2560x1600. The standard matte LCD runs at 300 Hz with 500 nits of brightness. The matte Mini LED option also delivers 300 Hz while reaching 1000 nits HDR peak brightness. Users wanting deep black levels can select a glossy OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits HDR peak brightness.
Memory configuration uses 2 slots for DDR5 6400 CSO DIMM modules, while storage relies on 2 slots for M.2 2280 PCIe solid state drives. The base unit includes 16GB of RAM and a 500GB solid state drive. Physical connectivity includes Thunderbolt 4, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, an SD UHS II card reader, and a 2.5GbE LAN port for fast wired internet. Biometric login is handled by a facial recognition FHD camera paired with digital microphones and 2 stereo speakers outputting 2W each.
The base model costs 2350 euros without tax. That entry configuration pairs the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 500GB storage drive. Higher tiers support the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 mobile graphics chips.
