While visually reminiscent of its predecessor, Ghost of Yotei promises a vastly different experience:
- Time Jump: The story takes place 300 years later, in 1603.
- New Setting: The action shifts from Tsushima Island to the mountainous region of Yotei.
- New Protagonist: With Jin Sakai's story concluded, players will take on the role of a female warrior named Atsumi.
In a PlayStation Blog post, developer Sucker Punch Productions emphasized that Ghost of Yotei is their first game built from the ground up for the PlayStation 5. The team aims to deliver an even more immersive and expansive open world experience in this samurai epic.
Ghost of Yotei is slated for release in 2025. No information about a potential PC version has been announced.
