Cancellation and Layoffs

The studio did not state a specific reason for the cancellation, expressing general regret over the project's demise. The cancellation will result in some job losses, as the company is undergoing layoffs. A recently leaked gameplay video suggests that the game was not in a polished state.

Four-Day Workweek and Project Astrid

Interestingly, at the end of 2023, Splash Damage announced the implementation of a four-day workweek, stating that it would positively impact the development of its two key projects: Transformers: Reactivate and Project Astrid. Project Astrid, an open-world survival AAA game, is still in development and has not been canceled.
