Realme has released a new mobile phone in India under the name Realme 14 Pro Lite. Sounds dope, right? The fresh Lite version of the Pro series should have more features at a lower cost. But wait a sec-it's time to dig in and might just get a bit deceiving.
While advertised as Lite sibling across Realme 14 Pro models launched recently, it seems rather odd about what Realme 14 Pro Lite has gotten into. Instead of being a shrunken-down version of the 14 Pro, it looks shockingly alike... to the Realme 13 Pro.
Déjà Vu Specs: Spot the Difference? (Hint: It's Difficult)
Let's begin with the specs. The Realme 14 Pro Lite comes with a 6.7 inch 120Hz Curved Vision OLED display. Sound familiar? Well, it should-it's the same display from the Realme 13 Pro. The primary camera? A Sony LYT-600 sensor. Again, the same as on its predecessor. Even the shades, now dubbed "Miracle Shining Design", seem suspiciously close to the "Monet-Inspired Designs" from the 13 Pro, just with a fresh marketing spin.
Even the innards are a tad similar as those in the 13 Pro. To top it all, it runs Realme UI 5 on Android 14, which is older software. The Real 14 Pro, in contrast, is now rocking the newer Realme UI 6. Whereas both smartphones share 45W fast charging, the 14 Pro Lite comes with a slightly smaller 5,200mAh battery, just like the 13 Pro.
"Lite" in Name Only?
So what's the twist? Either way, it seems that the Realme 14 Pro Lite is not a new phone by its traditional definition. Seems more as a rebranding of the Realme 13 Pro put back to rule in the 14 series lineup. Sounds good, though-the Realme 13 Pro was a good phone in the mid-range segment. What might be misguiding here is that if you're one expecting a, in real sense, new budget variant of the 14 Pro, the name Lite might be misleading.
Pricing and Availability
If you are interested in this "new" familiar face, the Realme 14 Pro Lite is available now on Flipkart in India. The starting price is INR 21,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version and goes up to INR 23,999 for the 8GB/256GB configuration.
That being said, the Realme 14 Pro Lite might still hold decent value for the Indian consumer, especially if they keep their prices comparatively low against the remaining stock of the Realme 13 Pro. Just be warned that it's a phone you've already actually seen, just under a different name tag.
