Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT: A New GPU Contender on the Horizon

It appears that the graphics card market will have another contender. There is a rumor that Acer will be releasing a Nitro series version of AMD's latest Radeon RX 9060 XT. This is not entirely surprising, given that Acer has already dipped its toes into the GPU market with its Nitro RX 9070 series cards.

With AMD allegedly releasing the Radeon RX 9060 XT officially at Computex – which is just around the corner – it stands to reason that the likes of partners like Acer would already be prepared with their custom designs. We've even seen some other firms, like ASUS, having their interpretations show up on retail sites already.

A Sneak Peek at Acer's Nitro Design

So what might this Acer Nitro RX 9060 XT end up looking like. Based on pictures we've seen, we can look forward to a card with a thin gray shroud and a dual-fan cooler. You can bet that the "Nitro" logo will be prominently featured. As far as size, it appears to be a standard dual-slot GPU, and that's excellent news for fitting into lots of various PC cases.

For connectivity, look for the usual suspects: two DisplayPort outputs and a single HDMI port. Power-wise, it appears this card will tap its power from a single 8-pin PCI-E connector. Although the official specs are still not available, the TDP is said to be in the vicinity of the 200W mark.

What's Under the Hood of the RX 9060 XT.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT itself is shaping up to be an interesting card. It will feature 2048 Stream Processors and will likely come in two memory configurations: an 8GB model and a bigger 16GB model. This seems to suggest that AMD would be marketing the 16GB model more initially, learning from the way at least some of the 8GB cards of recent times have performed in terms of market acceptance. An 8GB version is also set to release in due course.

This GPU is AMD's answer to NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti and will be powered by the NAVI 44 die – a separate chip from the more potent NAVI 48 used in the 9070 series. As for pricing, the RX 9060 XT will likely be slightly lower than its NVIDIA equivalent. Look in the ballpark of $400 for the 16GB model and in the $300-$350 range for the 8GB model.

Early Listings and Price Rumor

Following up on the buzz, listings for both the 8GB and 16GB models of an Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT are live on a Swiss retailing website. And sure enough, while this gets us an early glimpse, it's extremely important to remember that these prices are likely just placeholders.

Early Listings and Price Rumor

For instance, the 16GB model cost at a level which equates to around $620 USD (Swiss VAT included), while the 8GB model came in at about $566 USD. These are relatively higher than even the RX 9070 series of graphics cards, so don't hold them as fact. The actual MSRPs will likely be a good deal closer to the $300-$400 estimates above.

The retail listings did confirm the dual-fan configuration and display output arrangement we were anticipating. Of further note is that these Nitro RX 9060 XT cards, being less power-hungry than their 9070 cousins, should be just fine with a dual-fan cooler over a triple-fan solution.

We won't know until Computex the full official breakdown from AMD about the specs of the RX 9060 XT, but we can expect things such as the 2048 Stream Processors, the 8GB/16GB VRAM configurations, a 128-bit memory bus, and that ~200W TDP to be set in stone.

It's an exciting time for PC builders, and Acer adding in another custom RX 9060 XT to the mix gives us even more options to get hyped about.
