Fractal Design Unveils Meshify 3 Series PC Cases
Fractal Design, a company long known and respected by PC builders for quality and smart design, has just released its new babies: the Meshify 3 series computer cases. If you appreciate maximum airflow and a clean look, you'll be interested. They're releasing these new cases in a number of different flavors, including the standard sizes and the heavier-duty XL versions, so there's sure to be something for everyone.
One of the great things is the selection you have. If you like a nice, solid side panel or prefer to expose your components via tempered glass, Fractal's got you. And yes, for those who enjoy a little RGB flash, there are versions with lighting as well!
Introducing the Standard Meshify 3: Compact Powerhouse
Let us consider the regular Meshify 3. It measures 433mm x 229mm x 507mm in terms of footprint and weighs somewhere between 8.7 to 9.1 kg. Don't let the "standard" designation fool you; this case has ample space available for motherboards of up to the E-ATX form factor (exactly 305mm x 277mm). Your beloved graphics card has space for up to 349mm in length, and CPU coolers can be up to 173mm high.
Cooling is no laughing matter with Meshify cases, and the Meshify 3 doesn't let you down. You can have liquid cooling radiators as large as 360mm at the front and up to 280mm on the top. Liquid cooling not your thing? You can have six 120mm fans or five 140mm fans. Fractal gets you off the ground with three 140mm fans, and you get to have one without or with internal lighting. For storage, there are two spots for 3.5-inch drives and four for 2.5-inch drives.
Go Big with Meshify 3 XL: For Serious Builds
If you're building a straight-out colossal build with huge components, the Meshify 3 XL units are your ticket. These are much larger, measuring 575mm x 245mm x 515mm, and they weigh between 10.5 to 11.9 kg, depending on whether you opt for backlighting and a fan controller.
The extra room you get in the XL model enables you to fit even bigger graphics cards (as large as a whopping 512mm!), higher CPU coolers (up to a height of 183mm), and power supplies up to 230mm long. This is just perfect for those who do not want to settle on component size in any way.
Convenience at Your Fingertips
Whatever Meshify 3 you choose, you'll enjoy the handy front panel ports at your beck and call. There's a speedy USB Type-C port (20 Gbps), two USB Type-A ports (5 Gbps), and a dual 3.5mm audio jack for your headphones.
What About the Price?
For the regular Meshify 3, prices begin at about $140 if you opt for a solid or glass panel with non-illuminated fans. If you would like those RGB fans, figure on paying about $160. There's also a pricier "Ambience Pro RGB" version, which costs about $220. For the Meshify 3 XL versions, Fractal Design hasn't yet revealed the pricing, so we'll have to wait and see.
So, if you're after a new case with plenty of airflow and loads of choice, the new Fractal Design Meshify 3 series well looks like it's worth checking out!
