Lenovo Builds Hype for Next-Gen Legion Tab
Lenovo is creating hype for its next-gen Legion Tab. While we still wait for an official release date, the company is giving subtle hints that this device, which in China is branded as the Legion Y700 4th Generation, could very well be a contender to beat offerings like Apple's iPad mini.
More Than a Mini Tablet
Lenovo is not shy to tout the new Legion Tab Gen 4 as a top contender. They already emphasized its stunning 8.8-inch screen with its crunchy 3K resolution and eye-wateringly smooth 165Hz refresh rate – specs designed to impress whether you're watching vids or diving into games.
Powering this experience is Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. So look for best-of-the-best performance and go head-to-head with other high-end tablets.
A Slight Glimpse of Gaming Dominance
By the way, Lenovo is also making a big deal about the gaming credentials of the Legion Tab Gen 4. They've teased a glimpse at what looks like a dedicated gaming peripheral. With little information out there, this accessory seems to transform the tablet into what looks like a dedicated gaming handheld, complete with RGB lighting, headphone jack, and USB-C port nicely positioned at the bottom.
This tablet could compete with dedicated gaming handhelds on its own terms. It definitely appears Lenovo's aiming for versatility here.
What's Next
While dubbed Y700 in the domestic market, we can expect to see it come as the Legion Tab elsewhere, continuing the naming convention of past years. Lenovo only keeps tweeting teasers about gaming goodness on its social media channels, so hopefully we'll have the entire scoop - and some more information about that very intriguing-sounding gaming attachment - before long.
Watch out – this little powerhouse could just turn the small tablet world on its head.
