Ultron Joins Marvel Rivals, Season 2.5 Arrives May 30th with New Content

NetEase just dropped some fantastic news: metal behemoth Ultron is formally joining the hero team. We even got to see a little of his gameplay, and believe me, he's looking like he's gonna create some major virtual destruction. But that's not all – Season 2.5 will be going live next week on May 30, 2025, and it's bringing with it a wave of new content and patches.

What's Crashing into Season 2.5?

Apart from Ultron, players have a brand new map to battle for. NetEase is also shaking things up with sweeping reforms to Team-Up skills. Have you ever heard of a "Jeff-Nado"? You're in for a thrill! Sounds like teamwork is on the verge of a wild new level.

Good news for everyone getting enjoyment out of the Hellfire Gala Moments event – it's being extended! You'll have an additional week to have fun with those celebrations. And, of course, new patch notes are in, detailing all the balance changes and patches to make sure the game keeps running smoothly.

Say hello to Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol!

Add June 6th to your calendars, as a new limited-time game mode is coming: Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol. This mode is a blast! Six groups will get to pick their dream hero team lineups and then develop their abilities before facing off against the other groups. NetEase has referred to this as an "experiment" in trying to figure out how they can bring those incredible Marvel hero and villain daydreams to life. I am personally very curious to see what transpires here!

Significant Season Changes Working

Here's a bit of an important heads-up: Season 2 is the last season that will maintain the current three-month format. Starting at Season 3, Marvel Rivals seasons will be short, a mere two months long. Panic not, however – this means that we'll be getting a new character and new features *every single month*. Talk about being on the edge! This change comes after Season 2 already brought weekly missions to the table with additional ways to play besides the daily challenges.

Marvel Rivals is looking like it's going to be in for a thrill ride. With Ultron headed our way and these new season changes, there is plenty to look forward to
