Asus Shows New GeForce RTX 5090 and 5070 Ti BTF 2.5 Graphics Cards

Asus has shown new GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 Ti types under its BTF 2.5 name, made for clean PC units with no wires seen. The new set has the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 BTF White Edition and the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 32GB GDDR7 BTF Edition, each with normal and speed-up types.

The BTF 2.5 Rule A Part You Can Take Out for More Ways to Use

The main part of the BTF 2.5 rule is an change to Asus's own GC-HPWR power link, which can swap the normal 16-pin (12VHPWR) link. In past BTF types, this power link was stuck, making users match the GPU with a fit Asus BTF board.

With BTF 2.5, the GC-HPWR power link can now be taken off. This shift lets users take off the link and use the card on a normal board with a plain 16-pin power cord, growing fits and choice a lot.

Power Needs and Link Use

Due to high factory speeds, Asus asks for a bit more power than with Founders Edition types. For the ROG Astral RTX 5090 types, a 1,000W PSU is a good idea, and an 850W PSU is wise for the TUF Gaming RTX 5070 Ti types.

While the cards can work with both the normal 16-pin and the GC-HPWR links, Asus says to use only one at a time. A tool comes with it to safely take off the GC-HPWR link when you don't need it.

Price and When You Can Get Them

Asus wants to sell its BTF cards in the U.S., and these new BTF 2.5 types are set to be part of that. No official price yet, but the BTF 2.5 types may cost more than normal ones because of the special link tech.
