Dying Light The Beast August 22nd Launch Kyle Crane Returns New Gameplay Vehicles Pre-Order Details Revealed

The Polish studio Techland has just shared a major revelation during the Summer Game Fest 2025. The launch date for Dying Light: The Beast has been set for August 22nd. The title will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and now also Xbox Series S|X.

Now, you may be wondering how this "Beast" came to be. There's an interesting backstory. Originally envisioned as the second major expansion for Dying Light 2, the unfortunate events in game development, helped somewhat by the leak back in 2023, had it grow into a fully-fledged, standalone adventure.

The original hero was from the very first Dying Light. This time, however, Kyle Crane is back in The Beast, once again voiced by the illustrious Roger Craig Smith. It is quite amazing to know that Roger Craig Smith is once again involved in voicing Crane.

But this isnt the same Crane we last met. Thirteen years of experimentation have changed him. Techland is teasing some quite sinister power-hes going to have skull crushing, head ripping, and the ability to tear enemies limb from limb. It sounds like players are going to be fighting for some control over Kyles evolved, furious, and somewhat beastly powers.

In true Dying Light fashion, The Beasts story will shift dramatically between day and night. During the day, players can explore the world and gather rare resources. However, nightfall is when the fiercest, most frightening zombies would come out to hunt. Players will have three options: confront them, do a mad dash for safety, or find a good hiding spot and pray.

Of course, first-person parkour will come back in style, enabling you to race and jump through the environment. Another rather interesting twist that The Beast imparts from Dying Light: The Following expansion is the return of vehicles to the series Those things should definitely be used to mow down some infected.

A whole new setting called Castor Woods valley awaits gamers. Techland states that this area was inspired by the majesty of the Swiss Alps. But the game will not have one kind of environment; expect a variety of biomes for exploration: a facility for tourists, industrial quarters, a huge national park, small farm fields, and murky swamps. Good thing you can traverse the new world with friends, as Dying Light: The Beast will offer full four-player co-op with shared progression, so that everyone is on the same page.

If youre already sold, pre-orders are live right now for $59.99. Chucking down your money early will get you the Harran Bundle, which is full of nice in-game items:

  • Ultimate Survivor Outfit: Juggernaut outfit from the first Dying Light should ring a bell to you. It has a really cool and makeshift, apocalyptic look considered to be a badge of honor by devoted survivors.
  • Harran Combat Knife: Quick and deadly blade. That zombie head engraving on it A solid nod to the original Dyings Light box art.
  • The Follower Crossbow: First seen in Dying Light: The Following expansion, this crossbow is your best friend for a quieter, stealthier approach.
  • In Jades Memory Pistol: Jade Aldemir fairly helped you escape Harran. With her likeness on the grip, there is a reminder with every shot you take.
  • Castor Woods Patrol (Vehicle Skin/Item): This vehicle used to rescue hikers and cats from trees. Now, it is time to see how it handles a full-blown zombie apocalypse

One last important note: If you own Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition, congratulations This gives you a free pass for Dying Light: The Beast and Harran Bundle, all because, as mentioned before, that version was going to include a second major DLC for Dying Light 2, and The Beast has essentially evolved out of that.

Now prepare to unleash your inner beast and plunge once more into the horrific, thrilling universe of Dying Light.
