Intel is changing up its marketing team, and many jobs will go to Accenture. Accenture plans to use AI to do work that Intel workers did before, reports OregonLive. This change is part of a bigger plan to cut jobs and make things run smoother.
Intel's marketing has been big since its "Intel Inside" campaign in 1991. Now, there will be less work done by people. Many marketing workers might lose their jobs, with Intel thinking Accenture's AI can link better with its customers.
We don't know how many jobs are at risk yet, but Intel says teams will change a lot, making "lean" teams. Workers will find out where they stand by July 11.
The reshuffle lets Intel's own teams focus on big, creative, important projects by giving routine jobs to others. Intel wants to use Accenture's AI for tasks like sorting info, automating jobs, and tailoring talks with customers.
Intel has shared that this switch to Accenture will cut costs, update what they can do, and boost their brand. The company hasn't shared how using AI instead of people will boost the brand.
"We said earlier this year that we are working to become a leaner, quicker, more streamlined company," Intel shared, as noted by OregonLive. "Part of this involves making our digital skills better to help our customers more and boost our brand. Accenture has been our partner and a leader in this, and we are glad to keep working with them."
Reports from Intel, also noted by OregonLive, hint that some Intel workers might help train Accenture people on how Intel works. This teaching will be part of the move to outsourcing, but how long this phase will last isn't sure yet.
