You'll also be able to get all of this coverage about the other gaming happenings happening in June right on your Xbox Games Showcase. Hey, don't forget about our very own PC Gaming Show happening that very same Sunday Watch out for the Summer Game Fest 2025 tag for all our stories as they unfold.

But for now, it's a time for speculation. Which Microsoft-owned developers might step up to the plate, and what do they have in store for us during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Peeking into the Xbox Studios Crystal Ball

From Gears of War: E-Day It shows up as a very hearty possibility that Gears of War: E-Day would show up.

Halo Studios (343 formerly)

I feel like the next Halo adventure is still quite a ways off, especially with all of the internal changes, the move to Unreal Engine, and a bunch of recent hiring. Don't hold your breath for any big reveal this year.

World's Edge

What could those creators of Age of Empires be cooking up Too soon for a full new sequel. Maybe a new expansion for AoE 2, or possibly remastering the original Interesting

The Coalition

A deeper dive into Gears of War: E-Day seems almost unavoidable. Fans have been starving for a morsel since that initial CG trailer aired a year ago.

Compulsion Games

Too early to expect an announcement from this smaller, creative studio since South of Midnight was recently launched.

Double Fine

Psychonauts 2 launched four years ago This feels like prime time for a new Double Fine project to be unveiled. Gut instinct Something delightfully unexpected.

The Initiative

Prepare yourself for more on Perfect Dark. We saw gameplay last year, so a more detailed demo and a likely release window seem very plausible.

The Outer Worlds 2 Art ad The Outer Worlds 2 receives its own spectacular presentation in the main event.

InXile

Clockwork Revolution was unveiled last year, giving strong BioShock vibes. Expect something closer to gameplay evidence this year.

Mojang Studios

Expect a new look at Minecraft's upcoming Chase the Skies update, and maybe some hints about what’s next. Could another spin-off like Minecraft Legends or Dungeons also be on the cards

Ninja Theory

We might get one more tantalizing glimpse of Project Mara, their mysterious new game. However, it seems very early in development, so a teaser and a title reveal are probably the most we can hope for.

Obsidian

Big news for The Outer Worlds 2 It's getting its own "Outer Worlds 2 Direct" stream right after the main showcase. Expect loads of new gameplay and a launch date for later this year. Knowing Obsidian, they might even tease another new project – they often juggle multiple games.

Zombie fight in State of Decay 3 Fans will wait a long time for a close up of State of Decay 3.

Playground Games

It would seem very likely for a major revelation in gameplay terms regarding Fable, especially if it still aims for a 2026 release. And don't be surprised if In 2021 we hear about Forza Horizon 6.

Rare

It's been a while since Everwild - Rare's new ambitious IP. Given that it's reportedly playable (Phil Spencer even tweeted about trying it), this feels like the right moment for a gameplay reveal to assure everyone it is progressing well.

Turn 10

Forza Motorsport has a new entry coming up, so an announcement here is on the cards. But it is rather unusual to have a new Motorsport and a brand-new Horizon announced at the same time.

Undead Labs

An in-depth look at State of Decay 3, hopefully with at least a rough release window, is to be expected after that cinematic trailer last year.

What About Bethesda's Powerhouses

"Blade unsheathing his sword" Hopefully, Arkane's Blade game is going smoother than Marvel's movie attempt...

Bethesda Game Studios

Definitely more Starfield DLC is on the way (the name "Starborn" has been floating around after a trademark registration), so a preview seems inevitable. However, while everyone wants to see The Elder Scrolls 6, it's best to temper expectations. Although it was announced in 2018, active production didn't really start until after Starfield's release in 2023.

Zenimax Online

Elder Scrolls Online is alive and thriving, so a good bet for expansion or update announcement. The same goes for Fallout 76, which hangs poised to collect all the renewed dust from the hit TV show.

Id Software

Doom: The Dark Ages has just landed its feet; don't expect any significant announcement from this landmark studio during the showcase.

Arkane

A Blade game was announced roughly a year and a half ago. It'd be great if we could get a more concrete look at it this year.

Machine Games

Will they tell us of a new mini-sequel to last year's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, or possible standalone expansion, much like Wolfenstein: The Old Blood or Youngblood Interesting thought

And Don't Forget Activision's Lineup

Concept art showing a Druid from Diablo 4 A new Diablo 4 expansion practically screams about being the main announcement for Blizzard this year.

Blizzard

The next Diablo 4 expansion may likely be the centerpiece of Blizzard's focus at this event, along with some updates for Overwatch 2. A tease for a new game may not be ruled out, but they have their hands pretty full with live service titles.

Infinity Ward/Treyarch/Sledgehammer

It’s Infinity Ward’s turn in the Call of Duty development cycle. It’s highly likely that we will see their new game announced here. Modern Warfare 4 is the leading contender.

To sum up speculations

And a great big robot in InXile's Clockwork Revolution. Nope, it's not BioShock Infinite, it's interestingly InXile's Clockwork Revolution.

Whew, that's a lot Let's condense, however, for those who might be slightly lost. What are the major predictions

Gears of War: E-Day, Perfect Dark, Clockwork Revolution, Fable, Everwild, State of Decay 3, and maybe Blade, given luck. Remember, The Outer Worlds 2 gets its own dedicated stream after the main one.

Expect an announcement for either Forza Horizon 6 or a new Forza Motorsport, plus Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. New things coming from Double Fine as well, and probably a title reveal and teaser for Ninja Theory's Project Mara.

But there's still room for some surprises Obsidian, World's Edge, MachineGames, and maybe Mojang might have something in store.

Probably not, though, that one should expect a new Halo soon or anything substantial on The Elder Scrolls VI. Surely more time is needed for them both.

Enjoy the show, everyone And don't forget to keep checking back with us for the ultimate coverage all summer long throughout Summer Game Fest 2025.
