AMD Threadripper 9995WX Hits 5 GHz All-Core in New Benchmark
New news is out for AMD's top CPU, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX. It hit 5 GHz in a new speed test, with all cores at work. This shows a high test score and gives a peek at how much power it uses and how hot it gets.
Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX Key Details

- Max Speed: Up to 5.4 GHz
- Cache: 384 MB L3 + 96 MB L2
- Power: 350W (usual)
- Build type: TSMC 4nm
- Parts: 12 CCDs and 1 IOD
- Tech slots: 148 (144 real use, 128 PCIe 5.0)
- Memory: Uses 8-Channel DDR5 RDIMM, top speed 6400 MT/s
5 GHz All-Core Performance and Power
In a past test using PBO, the 9995WX got 173,452 points in Cinebench R23 while using up to 840W. The new test takes it up to 5 GHz on all cores.
With the 5 GHz push, the Threadripper PRO 9995WX scored 186,800 points in Cinebench R23. This is 70% better than the last model, the 7995WX.
During the test, power use went up to 947W. With a normal cooling system, the CPU's heat rose to 98°C. The setup had an ASUS Pro WS RTX50-SAGE WIFI board and 144 GB of DDR5-6000 memory.
Even with a strong score, it's still 11% below the record set with liquid nitrogen for the old 7995WX, at 6.25 GHz. This means the new 9995WX could reach near 250,000 points with strong cooling.
Additional Benchmark Results at 4.9 GHz
More tests at 4.9 GHz give these results:
- Super PI 1M: 8.526s
- Super PI 32M: 4m 50.912s
- PYPrime 2B: 16.076s
- Cinebench R23: 181,545 points
- Cinebench R20: 68,224 points
- Cinebench R15: 23,669 points
- 7-ZIP: 849,221 MIPS
