Kojima Talks on Death Stranding 2 Hit and His 'One Error'
After the launch of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, game maker Hideo Kojima has opened up about how people took it. He is happy with the high marks the game got, but he admits he made one error that has upset him.
A Hit No One Saw Coming
Before the game came out, Kojima said he wanted to make the follow-up more likely to start talks since tests showed very good feedback. Even though he tried to change the story to stir up more talk, it didn't work. Death Stranding 2 came out to great praise, getting 90 points from critics and players alike.
Kojima has now made peace with this win, saying he is very happy with how it was received, making it the top-rated game of his life.
The Error Letting Out Secrets Too Soon
Kojima's main upset isn't with the game itself, but with how fast players found its hidden bits and shared them online. He blames himself for this.
He said that he shared these player finds too, which made the info spread even quicker. In his words:
I felt bad when all this showed up online, and not even a week had gone by since it came out. But the fault is mine – I kept sharing such posts.
