Talk Says Fable Might Be Late Until 2027
After we were told for sure that the Fable redo would not meet its 2025 start time, a new talk hints the game may be even more late. Shpeshal Nick on the XboxEra show shared info from two spots, saying the game many wait for might go beyond 2026 to 2027.
What the Talk on the Delay Says
Shpeshal Nick told that the longer wait isn't because of big issues in making the game. "Just hearing that it's taking a bit more time than they thought," he said. He made it clear this was not bad news about how good the game is, just a change in when it might come out.
Still, we should be careful with this news. The insider was right about some Xbox talks before, but not always, so this is still just a guess.
Why Another Late Date Matters for Xbox
Another delay would hit Microsoft hard. Xbox fans are worried after the stop of the Perfect Dark redo and other plans. Also, Microsoft Gaming's boss, Phil Spencer, had said 2026–the Xbox’s 25th year–would be big with the come back of main games, Fable included.
Not keeping that word could hurt their good name, though putting out a game not yet done would be bad too. It seems the game has been made at Playground Games for around eight years, a long time for a group used to racing games. They got help from Eidos Montréal, but new words say their part may be done.
Xbox's 2026 Games Without Fable
Even if Fable is late, Microsoft's 2026 own games could still be big. Other games might come out like Clockwork Revolution, a new Forza game, Gears of War: E-Day, and talk of a Halo: Combat Evolved remake. Help from Bethesda and Activision Blizzard could add more. Still, missing Fable would be a big let-down for Xbox fans.
