Honor Pad GT2 Pro is Out in China with Better Power
The Honor Pad GT2 Pro is now up for sale in China, after being told about two weeks back. This fresh tablet takes over from the 2024 Honor Pad GT Pro. It has a strong Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, a big and quick screen, and an eight-speaker sound set-up. Still, it does show some key shifts from the one before it.
Main Specs and Shifts
The Pad GT2 Pro rolls out big updates and a big change in the display.
Chip and Speed
- Chip: It runs on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, a step up from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the last model.
- Memory & Space: You can pick from 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM, with space going up to 512GB.
- Cooling: The tablet has a liquid cooling setup to keep it cool.
- Growth: There's no slot for microSD card to add more space.
Screen and Sound
- Screen Size & Speed: The screen is now a 12.5-inch board with a 3048 × 2032 look and a quicker 165Hz refresh rate.
- Screen Type: In a major change, the new one uses an IPS LCD screen, not the OLED from before.
- Pen Support: It still works with the Honor Magic-Pencil 3.
- Sound Set-up: The tablet has an eight-speaker system with Hi-Res audio and is IMAX Enhanced-okay.
Camera and Links
- Back Camera: A lone 13MP camera with a LED light is on the back.
- Front Camera: The front camera is an 8MP unit, a swap from the 9MP unit on the last model.
- Links: The set comes with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, but no NFC.
Battery, Charging, and Software
Honor has put a 10,100mAh Si-C Li-ion battery in the Pad GT2 Pro. It allows 66W fast wired charging (charger in the box) and has a bypass charging mode. The tablet runs MagicOS 9.0.1, based on Android 15.
Costs and When You Can Get It
The Honor Pad GT2 Pro comes in Ice White and Phantom Gray. It sells in China like this:
- 8GB RAM / 128GB Space (Base Model): ¥2,499 (~$399 / €249)
- 16GB RAM / 512GB Space (Top Model): ¥3,399 (~$499 / €449)
Right now, there's no news on a world launch. But, seeing as the past Honor Pad GT Pro was up in Europe and the UK as the Honor MagicPad 2, a launch in other places might happen. Honor may also think about getting its bigger Honor MagicPad 3 to these areas next.
