Moore Threads S90 GPU Takes on NVIDIA RTX 4060

New tests on a gaming GPU from the Chinese company Moore Threads show big boosts in power. This puts the S90 model on the same level as NVIDIA's popular GeForce RTX 4060. The tests point to huge steps up in the tech and, most importantly, better driver software.

Moore Threads S90 GPU shows it can keep up

A Chinese blogger did these tests on the Moore Threads MTT S4000, a work GPU that has the same tech design as the S90 made for gaming. This means the test results give us a good idea of what the S90 can do.

Test Results S90 vs. RTX 4060

In a mix of fake and gaming tests, the Moore Threads GPU showed it could go toe-to-toe with the NVIDIA RTX 4060.

  • 3DMark Steel Nomad: The MTT S90 got 2567, beating the RTX 4060's 2340.
  • 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra: The RTX 4060 stayed ahead with 5863, while the MTT S90 had 5210.
  • Other Fake Tests: Elsewhere, the S90 did well, scoring 1467 in Unigine Valley to the RTX 4060's 1111. It also just outdid the RTX 4060 in the "娱乐大师" (Entertainment Master) test, 42 to 40.

How it plays Naraka Bladepoint

In a real game test with the hit game Naraka Bladepoint at 4K top settings, the MTT S90 got an average of 43 FPS. This was a bit better than the RTX 4060, which got 42 FPS in the same test.

Why Good Drivers Matter

This level of play shows a big jump for Moore Threads. Older models couldn't even match old GPUs like the GTX 1050 Ti. The reason behind this jump is said to be big upgrades in driver software. Reports say the newest drivers boost performance by up to 80% over the old MTT S80, making them far more competitive.

What to Keep in Mind

While these results look good, remember they come from just one source and have not been checked by many international experts yet. So, we should be a bit careful with these early numbers until more tests can be done.
