New Video Tests Nothing Phone (3) Durability and Fixing Ease
Tech writer Zach Nelson put the Nothing Phone (3) to the test for how tough it is and how easy it is to fix. He found that the phone can really stand up to hard use, much like the top iPhones from Apple.
EPREL OK and Screen Toughness
Along with the phone came an EPREL OK card. This card is from a new rule for tech items. It had info on tests done on the device. It said the screen was at level five on the Mohs scale. Nelson checked this and saw the first big scratches at level six. Yet, the screen did not do well with a flame, ending up with a lasting mark from the lighter.
Back and Lens Scratch Test
The glass on the back, the camera parts, and the extra round screen all did not get hurt from a knife. The phone's frame and side keys, made of aluminum, got scratched as usually happens with this kind of stuff.
Test for How Well it Bends
The big news was how strong the phone's build is. Nelson could not bend the phone in his test. He said it was as tough as an iPhone, even though it costs less.
Ease of Fixing and Looking Inside
While taking it apart, it was easy to swap the battery and the USB-C port. The EPREL OK rated the phone's ease of fixing as "so-so," but Nelson didn't find big problems and thought it was not hard to fix. He put the phone back together at the end of the video, and it worked fine, showing that everything was still good inside.
