Talk Says Lots of Dropped Plans at Sony's Bend Studio
Sony's Bend Studio, the team that made the 2019 game Days Gone
, is in news for talk that many of their new plans were dropped or put off for now. These talks come up as many from the studio just lost their jobs.
Where the Dropped Plans Talk Starts
The talk starts from the LinkedIn page of a past Bend Studio worker, Jacob Fieth, who was there from 2019 to June 2025. On his page, Fieth put he worked on "many dropped/not told of plans," showing the studio was making games that might now not come out.
Fieth had a big role at the studio. His job was to make open world events and quests, try out new systems, and design game maps. This shows the dropped plans were more than just early ideas, they had been worked on quite a bit.
Link to Job Cuts at Studio
This news came after a game that Bend Studio was making was dropped early this year. After that, it was said 30% of the studio's workers were let go, with even more job cuts said to have happened last month. The drops in plans now tie to these job cuts.
Bend Studio's Past Work
The last big game from Bend Studio was Days Gone, out on the PS4 in 2019 and then came to PC. The game is liked a lot on Steam with a 91.43% score from over 96,000 reviews. Before Days Gone, the studio made Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PS Vita and the Syphon Filter series.
What Sony and Bend Studio Say and What's Next
So far, neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor Bend Studio has said anything about these dropped plans. With the job cuts made real and these new talks, the chance of a Days Gone follow-up or any new big open-world game from the studio seems not sure for now.
