Realme GT8 Pro and GT8 Unveiled Ricoh Cameras and Flagship Power
Realme launched its new flagships in China the GT8 & GT8 Pro. Both smartphones are powered by a top-of-the-line Snapdragon processor with a big battery and fast charging and a meaningful camera partnership with Ricoh, the world-famous camera maker.
Ricoh Co-Developed Camera System
The main talking point for the new series is the Ricoh Imaging co-developed camera system. The Realme GT8 Pro is the first-ever smartphone that adopts optics equal to Ricoh's world-renowned GR cameras in terms of quality, with high-transmittance, low distortion, and anti-glare coating excellence. The mode that would allow for a special "Ricoh GR Mode" to portray the GR's signature menu and color profiles are added.

Performance and Display
Both GT8 and GT8 Pro are powered by Snapdragon's latest chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It can be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage of up to 1TB. Realme implemented a massive vapor chamber cooling system for thermal management, which is even bigger than any vapor chamber it has used till now, covering an area of 7000 mm².
The phone has a 6.79-inch 2K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 7000 nits. Added to this are DC Dimming and a 360Hz touch sampling rate, which will further benefit gaming.
Battery, Design, and Others
Both models carry a huge 7000mAh battery. While the standard GT8 does 100W wired charging, the GT8 Pro variant adds 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The GT8 Pro further has a special interchangeable block of camera modules; options include a "Functional Robot" with illumination. Highly rugged and resistant to dust and water with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, they also have symmetrical stereo speakers, a new ESA vibration motor for improved haptic feedback, and Realme's own Sky S1 communication module for better signal stability.
Pricing and Availability
The new smartphones have been launched in China, while global availability is expected shortly. The following is the pricing in China:
- Realme GT8 (12GB + 256GB) Starting from 2,899 yuan (approx. $407 USD).
- Realme GT8 Pro (12GB + 256GB) Starting from 3,999 yuan (approx. $561 USD).
