Wargaming's Mecha Game Steel Hunters to End in Early Access

The big mecha game Steel Hunters, made with support from Wargaming and built over six years, is now stopping for good. The game servers will shut this fall, ending the work before it could move out of Early Access.

A Quick End After Long Work

The game, with experts from Battlefield, started in Early Access this April. But just three months later, in July, the team said they had to end it.

On the game's Steam page, the makers shared a tough choice to stop work, saying moving forward was "impossible." They shared their sadness and knew the fans were sad too.

Bad Reviews and Few Players

Not many people played the game. Its Steam score was only 57% and called "Mixed." Even though it was free, not many played it, with the most at one time being just 4,479 people. In the 24 hours before the news, only 97 players were on.

After so much work, Steel Hunters did not reach enough people, leading to its quick end just months after it began.
