From futuristic robots and advanced weaponry to a setting in a sci-fi world for Call of Duty Black Ops 7

A New Chapter In The Year 2035

This will be the part of the story that is a sequel to Black Ops 2 advancing the story 10 years onward to 2035. It will bring back characters such as John Eric Bently and Michael Rooker, and David Mason will now be played by Milo Ventiglia. New recruit Leilani "50/50" Tupuola (played by Frankie Adams) adds bionic improvements to the cast. Treyarch assures its old-school fans that while it keeps on with their story, "no previous context will be required in order to enjoy the 'mind-bending narrative.'"

Four-Player Co-Op Campaign

It's definitely a core area for Black Ops 7, with a connected experience in mind-the social level of the brand new campaign, which features:

  • Complete Co-Op Support The entire campaign will be playable from beginning to end with up to four players or solo.
  • Dynamic Difficulty Scales the difficulty of the game based on the number of players in the session, rather than using traditional settings for difficulty.
  • No AI Bots Single players do not get AI teammates to assist them.

"Endgame" Entry A 32-Player Post-Campaign Experience

The moment players complete the main level of the story, they will find "Endgame," a colossally twelfth mission taking place in an open world Avalon. This is a shared-world experience for up to 32 players that builds on all the campaign's learned mechanics. Players will select one Operator and level them up with unique skills and abilities, although the full squad will cause that Operator's progress to reset. All weapons will be increased in rarity, along with Exotic weapons with their unique abilities.

Multiplayer Evolved Movement, Loadouts, and Prestige

The multiplayer formula is going to change big-time in Black Ops 7.

Enhanced Omnimovement

The Omnimovement feature from Black Ops 6 expanded new traversals like wall jumping coupled with combat rolls, wingsuits, Megajumps, and grappling hooks. While Treyarch is creating many advanced movement skills, such as aiming down sights while sliding, into perk options.

Launch Content

  • Maps Sixteen 6v6 maps at launch, including new Japanese regional variants of Raid, Express, and Hijacked.
  • Weapons A total of 30 weapons at launch across all categories.

Loadout and Prestige Overhaul

  • Hybrid Specialties These new hybrid perk specialities unlock powerful game-changing bonuses combining certain types of perks.
  • Overclock System Equipment, scorestreaks, and field upgrades may now be upgraded during a match.
  • Weapon Prestige Players can prestige-up individual weapons to level 50, which resets camos and attachments for that weapon but unlocks some unique "meta-shifting" attachment to that weapon.

Global Progression and PC Requirements

For the first time, Black Ops 7 will have global progression across all modes (Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, etc.). The co-op campaign will have its own dedicated camo track and mastery camos. On the technical side, Ricochet's anti-cheat will be improved, and PC players will be required to enable both TPM 2.0 and SecureBoot for the first time in series history.

Release Date and Open Beta

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be made available for the public on November 14.

Yes, there will be an open beta. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will gain early access on October 2, 2015, with access for all players starting October 5. The beta will be confirmed to run at least two days.
