Unveil New Zombie Survival Game 'CrisisX' Before Gamescom
The Hong Kong developer Hero Games has revealed a new multiplayer survival project titled CrisisX, which aims to set a new standard in setting zombie apocalypse gaming. The claims in the announcement have generated mixed reactions, sheer admiration, and outright skepticism from the gaming world.
A World of Size Map Size and Number of Players
One point at CrisisX is the totality of the game world's expanse. Developers indicatively describe the area as a 1200-square-kilometer map capable of accommodating a maximum player load of 5000, all with one server.
To put that square space into perspective The upcoming Badlands expansion for the ever-popular survival game DayZ is set to be 267 km², making CrisisX a much larger world.
Gameplay and World Features
CrisisX will introduce standard survival genre gameplay features such as gathering resources, hunting, and base-building activities. Players will experience passage through 12 varied biomes, some including Western cities with secret labs, snowy mountain peaks, and river valleys. The major challenges will be zombie fighting, exploring military facilities, and PvP with other players.
Gamer Skepticism and 'The Day Before' Comparisons
Nonetheless, as much as the announcements were ambitious, the projects came with enough skepticism from gamers many of whom have compared it to 'The Day Before' which is controversial. Some have taken to online platforms to express minus some people's praises. Here are comments from players:
- "It looks like a fully implemented version of fake survival games from mobile ads."
- "Another survival game that will never finish even if it does."
- "And now the real The Day Before."
