HMD announces Fuse, a smartphone designed for child safety
HMD Global has launched HMD Fuse, a new smartphone specifically designed for a child audience. The major feature of the device is that it keeps away the young users from viewing or creating inappropriate content through an AI integrated into the smartphone.
Core Safety Feature: HarmBlock+ AI Technology
The HarmBlock+ AI technology is the center of HMD Fuse. This technology is embedded in the phone OS and works off-line. The AI examines all camera use, message texting, and website viewing. It classifies and blocks inappropriate content. Trained on a dataset of 22 million images, it can stop the user from shooting any unwanted content or sending and receiving inappropriate pictures.
Easy-to-Use Parental Controls
The AI filter is one of many parental control options on HMD Fuse. Parents may do so by:
- Blocking or approving apps.
- Setting daily limits for apps.
- Scheduling total screen time for the child.
- Making a "Whitelist of Contacts" to allow calls or messages only from approved numbers.
- Tracking location in real-time and notifying parents if the child goes outside defined "safe zones."
