A19 Pro Scores Highest on Geekbench Yet CPU Not Left Far Behind
In the past, Apple's GPUs were the ones most to be complained about when they were criticized. These scores are the GPU improvements in A19 Pro achieved with Geekbench 6 Metal.
- A19 Pro (iPhone 17 Pro): 45,657
- A18 Pro (iPhone 16 Pro): 32,673
- M2 Chip (Macbook): 45,862
What these scores clearly show is that the benchmarks place the A19 Pro as an improvement by a whopping 40% over GPU performance compared with its predecessor while bringing GPU performance to almost the same level with the M2 notebooks.
CPU Scores Climbing Ahead and Compared to M4 Chips
There are worthwhile improvements in CPU performance as well, although GPU is where the A19 Pro's real success lies. The single-core score of the chip stood at 3,895, while the multi-core score crowned at 9,677. Hence, here is how the A19 Pro stacks up against the others:
- A19 Pro vs. A18 Pro: A19 Pro outperforms the A18 Pro by almost 14% in single-core and 15% in multi-core performance.
- A19 Pro vs. M4 Chip: Purely on the single-core score, A19 Pro takes the cake over M4 (~3,820), but M4 outdoes it in multi-core performance by 45%.
Looking Into the Future Sonic Cooling, Thermal Management
High-end technology can go to the poolside, One of the Holden drivers went too far by saying that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are the very first iPhones developed by Apple Inc. and require a liquid-chilled thermal management solution. Had this cooling apparatus not been so equipped, some of the newfound performance would have been heated, sparing energy. Tired yet
However, advancing the smartphone wasn't everyone's primary focus; as Apple has already mastered the CPU game, the company is likely making a deep dive for the GPU, probably owing to potential technological shortcomings in TSMC's 3nm generations. However, the next big improvements are expected for next year as Apple will, via 2nm technology, patterning for M2 or M3.
