God of War Series Rumored to Begin Filming in March 2026
Rumor has it that Amazon's God of War series will soon begin filming in March 2026. Nexus Point News claims that shooting for Amazon Prime Video's live-action adaptation of God of War would commence in March 2026. It is also said that the production would occur in Vancouver, Canada, a popular filming shooting site noted for its crews, varied landscapes, and savings in production costs.
Creative Team and New Writers
December of last year saw the announcement of a God of War TV series undergoing some serious development changes approximately a year ago because of alterations in the show's first showrunner and producers. Ronald D. Moore, the acclaimed series creator of Battlestar Galactica and For All Mankind, has signed on as the new showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Moore is joined by a team of experienced writers, including:
- Matthew Graham (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes)
- Stephanie Shannon (For All Mankind, Outlander)
- Naren Shankar (The Expanse, For All Mankind)
- Joe Menosky (Star Trek: Voyager, Discovery)
- Marc D. Bernardin (Castle Rock, Star Trek: Picard)
- Tania Lotia (The Witcher, Carnival Row)
Possible Casting and Release Window
If they are indeed on schedule to shoot in March 2026 then the other principal cast figures must have been signed already. That would mean an official casting announcement could come out before year's end. Following this production timeline, fans could expect the series to premiere on Prime Video sometime in 2027.
