LEGO Enters Star Trek With 'The Next Generation' as First Official Set

A Star Trek set is in the works, the LEGO Group officially announced, via a short teaser. This is the first time the Danish toy maker has partnered with the iconic science fiction series.

Confirmed Details from the Official Announcement

Oblivious to most of the internal details of the set, an initial teaser confirmed two pieces of major information:

  • Theme: The set is based on Star Trek The Next Generation, which began airing in the late 1980s.
  • Minifigure: A minifigure of the famous Captain Jean-Luc Picard will be included in the set.

Potential Contents and What Remains Uncertain

Given the theme, the assumptions have already been made that the set will be a design of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D. Other crew members of the vessel such as William Riker or Edward Jellico are also expected to accompany Captain Picard.

At present, the announcements have stopped from LEGO. An official price, number of pieces, and release dates have not yet been declared. Adored tweeters will have to be patient for future updates to find out all the details.
