Maxtang MTN-FP850 Mini PC with Strong AMD Strix Point Options

Maxtang has released full specifications, details on the brand new mini PC called MTN-FP850, which is compact form factor. The system will have different configurations equipped with various types of AMD Processors from Hawk Point as well as Strix Point.

Processor and Graphics Configurations

The MTN-FP850 will be available with three different processors, all defined with a default TDP of 45 watts:

  • Base Model: AMD Ryzen 7 255 with Radeon 780M iGPU.
  • Mid Tier Model: AMD Ryzen 7 260 with Radeon 780M iGPU.
  • Top-tier: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with the even more powerful Radeon 890M iGPU, able to run modern AAA games.

The company confirmed the TDP, but there were no further details on the cooling system.

Memory and Storage

Substantial Memory and Storage Upgrade Potential. The mini PC supports SO-DIMM DDR5 RAM, expandable up to 96 GB. Storage wise, the mini PC is equipped with two M.2 slots that support NVMe SSDs.

Connectivity and Ports

For its tiny size, the Maxtang MTN-FP850 packs a phenomenal array of modern ports:

  • 1x USB4
  • 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
  • 1x 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Type-C
  • 1x DisplayPort 2.1
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 2x 2.5G Ethernet ports
  • 1x 3.5 mm audio jack

The availability of a USB4 port lets the user connect a very powerful eGPU and use it while gaming. Moreover, the system also supports triple-display output. There is no default wireless card, but an M.2 2230 slot is reserved for this feature.

Maxtang has not yet announced price or specific release information for the MTN-FP850 mini PC.
