OnePlus 15 Details
OnePlus is steadily leaking details about its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15. New official renders reveal a special Sand Dune color variant, and the company has confirmed that the device will provide a 165Hz display with native 165 fps gaming support for a few casual titles.
Sand Dune Edition: Premium Materials
The OnePlus 15 is expected to arrive in three colors-Sand Dune, Black, and Purple. Nevertheless, the Sand Dune model will have more premium construction. The OnePlus pale brown frame has been described by the company as "aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal".
The said material is 26.3% lighter than titanium but 134% harder while also dissipating heat much better. The other color options would be using different, heavier material for the frame. Hence, it can be concluded that, perhaps, the Sand Dune model is going to cost a bit extra and may also be available only on top configurations with higher RAM and storage.
Confirmed Specs and Super Gaming Performance
OnePlus 15 is set to be an absolute powerhouse through Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The other notable upgrade is its display, which will be OnePlus' first to feature a 165Hz refresh rate.
According to OnePlus, the phone will also take advantage of this new display and support native 165 fps gameplay in multiple titles, including:
- Call of Duty Mobile
- Delta Force
- Arena Breakout
- League of Legends: Wild Rift
- Naruto Mobile
Some of the preliminary performance testing shows the device running Delta Force with an average of 164.9 fps across the board in a 30-minute session, which shows it can sustain such high performance. The Geekbench scores also indicate a 25% performance improvement compared to OnePlus 13.
Other Interesting Detail:
The official renders of the phone do not carry the Hasselblad branding that has been on previous models, indicating that the OnePlus 15 may debut a new, in-house camera engine. The phone will have a set of triple rear cameras.
The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in China by mid-October as a successor to OnePlus 13. Some leaks indicate it might launch at a price even lower as compared to its predecessor in the Chinese market.
