Viper Series SSDs Powered by Patriot at Gen 5 Speeds
Into its Viper series, Patriot launches two M.2 solid-state drives. Both end-user products, the Viper PV563 and PA523 variants, are designed to high throughput and extreme memory cell endurance on the PCIe Gen 5 interface.
Patriot Viper PV563
The Viper PV563 Interface uses PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface and comes in storage capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. It supports HMB (Host Memory Buffer) as well as dynamic SLC caching. Depending on capacity, the performance and endurance specs vary:
- 4TB: 14,000 MB/s read / 11,000 MB/s write | 3,000 TBW
- 2TB: 14,000 MB/s read / 10,000 MB/s write | 1,400 TBW
- 1TB: 14,000 MB/s read / 7,500 MB/s write | 700 TBW
Patriot Viper PA523
The Viper PA523 continues to be offered in the same three capacities: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB, but has a totally different tier of read and write speeds from the PV563 while maintaining the same endurance ratings:
- 4TB: 10,000 MB/s read / 8,500 MB/s write | 3,000 TBW
- 2TB: 10,000 MB/s read / 8,200 MB/s write | 1,400 TBW
- 1TB: 10,000 MB/s read / 6,500 MB/s write | 700 TBW
Warranty and Availability
Patriot provides a five-year guarantee for both the Viper PV563 and PA523 drives. The official launch date of the SSDs and their price will be revealed by Patriot later.
