Akko Presents the MetaKey a Physical Keyboard Shell for iPhone Pro Max
Akko has unveiled its MetaKey, a physical BlackBerry-style keyboard for use with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the soon-to-launch iPhone 17 Pro Max. Connecting it through USB would mean maximizing the consumption of the screen space by eliminating the on-screen keyboard.
Key Features of the Akko MetaKey
The MetaKey keyboard case would incorporate a lot of functional design elements to enhance the user experience when it comes to the compatible iPhones.
- Physical keyboard: Provides tactile feedback while typing, plus white backlighting to enable usage in low-light conditions.
- Shortcut keys: Launches applications and performs functions speedily with combinations using keyboard shortcuts.
- Magnetic Array: Has an in-built magnetic feature like all other cases for easy attachment of available accessories that are MagSafe compatible without the need to remove the case.
- Passthrough Connectivity: Data passthrough is made possible via the USB connection for easy file transfers.
- Adjustable Feel: Has an optional 9-gram detachable weight that can be installed to achieve a more balanced feel.
- Rugged Construction: Made from PU and TPU materials and precise openings for all ports, buttons, mics, and speakers.
- Function Shortcut: A dedicated function key for quick access to a numeric input mode.
Comparison and Design
There is nothing groundbreaking about a physical keyboard case for an iPhone; Clicks keyboard was introduced to this effect by CES 2024. Obviously replicating its competitors, the Akko MetaKey also emphasizes very tactile typing as well as productivity shortcuts.
