Asus Launches ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock in the US

Asus has released its ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock in the United States. The accessory, among other things, offers a combination of a 100W PPS fast charger with HDMI outputs and other USB ports for connecting additional devices.

Upgrades Compared to the Previous 65W Variant

The new model differentiates itself from its 65-watt predecessor in two primary aspects: the first major upgrade is its capacity to charge with USB Type-C up to 100W (at 20V/5A) while adding support for Programmable Power Supply (PPS) fast charging, a feature that the older dock does not have.

And for the new dock, a second USB 2.0 Type-A port is included. Thus, both Type-A ports provide 5V/1A (5W) power.

Core Technical Specifications and Changes

The dock is indeed more powerful and has more ports, but, functionally, it retains many of the existing features and adds just one major feature change:

  • Video Output: It retains an HDMI 2.0 port, which is able to provide video output up to the levels of 4K at 60Hz or 1080 at 120hz.
  • Included Cable: The new model revised the USB type-C to be shorter by 50 cm from 200cm to 150cm.

Pricing and Now Available

In the US, the ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock sells for $99.99. At this moment, Best Buy alone offers it for sale in the region.

Asus lists availability for all other markets as coming soon.
