Dell Announces Launch of Rugged 10 and Rugged 12 Protected Windows Tablets
In its extended product range, Dell has added the Rugged 10 and 12 Windows tablets to the Rugged series. For extreme operating conditions, high protection, modular design with removable batteries, highly bright displays, and support for modern AI capabilities characterize these devices.
Features and Specifications
New tablets with two sizes exhibit some differences in specifications while sharing a common performance core.
Display and Construction
- Dell Rugged 12 12-inch touchscreen with Full HD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass 5, and brightness of 1200 cd/m²; weight 1.31 kg. An extended-range integrated barcode reader is included in this model.
- Dell Rugged 10 10-inch display with peak brightness of 1000 cd/m², 1.04 kg; this model supports integrated VESA (50x50) mounting.
Performance and Storage
The specs remain the same for both tablets and can be configured as follows:

- Storage Up to 2 TB SSD
Durability and Modular Design
Both Rugged 10 and 12 were built for extreme environments, certified IP66, MIL-STD-810H, and MIL-STD-461G. The displays can recognize touches from wet fingers and through gloves.
One notable characteristic of this series is its modularity, which allows for user-replacement of the storage drive, battery, and USB-C port, enhancing the devices' service life and adaptability.
Security and Connectivity
The tablets boast up-to-date security and connectivity features, including
- AI and security support for Copilot+ PC features, TPM 2.0 security, front camera with a privacy shutter, Windows Hello, fingerprint scanner, and smart card slot.
- Connectivity Standard Wi-Fi 7, with optional 5G versions available having an integrated modem.
For both models, an additional IP66-protected keyboard is offered.

The Dell Rugged series tablets are now offered at the following prices starting in the US:

- Dell Rugged 12 starting price is $2990.
