Gaming Performance Test of the New iPad Pro with the M5 Chip
Reviews and performance tests of the 2025 iPad Pro's new M5 processor were in wake of its launch. Apple has claimed a 45% improvement in the graphics performance over the previous M4 chip. To validate that, the YouTube channel Geek Culture has tested the real-world gaming capabilities of the tablet with quite a few famous titles.
The Gaming Test Setup
This was done across four graphically intensive games, which involved Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Wuthering Waves, and Delta Force. Before starting the test, a surface temperature measurement at the tablet read about 26 degrees Celsius.
Performance in Every Game
Genshin Impact
The highest available graphics settings were applied to the game. However, since developers have yet to introduce updates for the game regarding the newest iPad Pro, options like 120fps mode and MetalFX upscaling were not available. Nonetheless, gameplay was considered smooth without lags. The tablet's temperatures read as 31° at the end of the session.
Zenless Zone Zero
Perceived as more demanding in terms of graphics capability compared to Genshin Impact, it was smooth sailing throughout exploration and combat. The only minor lag noted the opening of certain in-game menus. The device had warmed up even further at 37.
Wuthering Waves
No performance issue was found while playing Wuthering Waves. Gameplay was fluid, but the highest luminosity during the tests was at 39°C.
Delta Force
The shooter also went without any problems. The temperature of the tablet after the course of play was very much like that of Genshin Impact, reading 31 degrees Celsius.
Conclusion
The reviewer on Geek Culture was impressed by the gaming performance of M5-powered iPad Pro. On account of the smooth running of these demanding titles, the tablet was said to be highly recommended to mobile gaming fans.
