MSI MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO Compact Motherboard for Enthusiasts
MSI presents the MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO Motherboard, particularly designed for compact enthusiast builds. MSI has unveiled the MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO, a compact motherboard made for high-performance and overclocking on AMD's 800-series platform. The board brings many enthusiast-grade features to the table, including excellent memory support and a larger BIOS chip for future processor compatibility.
Key Characteristics of the MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO
This motherboard is precisely engineered to deliver high-end performance in small form factor.
Power Supply and Overclocking for Memory
The board is designed with an 8+2+1 SPS 110A power phase structure to cater for heavy-duty CPUs and also provide stability in overclocking. It also has two DIMM slots capable of achieving 10,000 MT/s in 1DPC 1R configuration for memory. 8000 MT/s is the maximum expected speed with a 1DPC 2R configuration.
Storage and Extension Capabilities
A primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is included for the latest graphics cards. Natively, the motherboard provides three M.2 slots and two SATA ports for storage. To overcome the limitations of its compact size, MSI includes a 5-in-1 XPANDER card, which connects to a dedicated slot to add more M.2 and SATA ports.
Future-Proof Connectivity and Lifespan
Another notable thing is that this motherboard integrated a 64 MB BIOS chip. It may help support the new AMD Zen 6 processors, but some reports say a 32 MB BIOS chip could also contain Zen 4 and add Zen 6 support. For connectivity, the motherboard comes standard with the latest:
- WiFi 7
- Bluetooth 5.4
- A fast 5G LAN port
- Multiple USB ports including 10 Gbps Type-A and a USB4 port
EZ Debug LEDs also further simplify the process of troubleshooting systems.
Cost & Availability
MSI has yet to disclose official pricing and release dates for the MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO WIFI.
