OneXPlayer Showcases OneXFly Apex Handheld with Strix Halo Power
OneXPlayer has revealed its first look at the OneXFly Apex gaming handheld in a series of new videos. The previews demonstrate ample performance capabilities of the new device, built upon AMD's potent Strix Halo APU platform.
OneXFly Apex was demonstrated in a video playing the taxing title Cyberpunk 2077. Handheld maintained over 60 frames per second at 1200p resolution with ray tracing gliding in, without using DLSS upscaling. This performance level represents a massive leap compared to previous-gen devices based on AMD's Strix Point architecture, namely, OneXFly F1 Pro.
Cooling and Key Specifications
To unleash power from the Strix Halo APU, OneXPlayer has confirmed an option for an external liquid cooling solution for the OneXFly Apex. This cooling attachment should be able to handle a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of up to 120 watts. However, there has been no information provided by the company on how the cooling accessory will connect to the handheld console.
The core hardware features of the OneXFly Apex are described as
- Processor AMD Strix Halo APU
- Memory Up to 128GB RAM
- Display 8-inch VRR Variable Refresh Rate screen
- Battery 85 Wh
Full Launch Event Imminent
While the early previews revealed some performance potential of the device, further specifications are likely incoming. One-Netbook will put on a full global launch event for the OneXFly Apex on October 28 at 11:00 UTC, wherein complete specifications and features shall likely be revealed.
