OneXPlayer Launches Flagship OneXfly Apex Handheld

OneXPlayer has rolled out its newest flagship handheld - the OneXfly Apex. The device is fitted with an exceptional AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 SoC and is intended to benefit from an optional external liquid cooling system to maximize performance.

Core Performance of the AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395

The center of the OneXfly Apex is the AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 SoC. Integrated with 16 "Zen 5" CPU cores and 40 "RDNA 3.5" GPU cores, it also has a 256-bit LPDDR5X memory controller and comes with an XDNA 2 NPU, capable of 50 TOPs AI performance.

Advanced Cooling System

The approach to cooling has two methods. First, the internal air-cooling system with two fans combined with four heat pipes helps this SoC to be operated in a power range from 85W to 100W. For maximum power, an external liquid-cooling module can connect to allow a full 120W TDP running chip.

Memory, Storage, and AI Capabilities

For the OneXfly Apex, there are configurations that can go up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM which can allocate up to 96 GB of it as VRAM for the GPU, enabling it not only to render high resolution but also perform large AI tasks locally such as a 70B parameter LLM.

As for storage, the handheld comes with:

  • One PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 slot (up to 7100MB/s).
  • One PCIe 4.0 Mini SSD slot (up to 3500MB/s).
  • One TF expansion slot for MicroSD cards (up to 2TB).

The general storage could reach the hand-held to about 8TB.
