Xiaomi 17 Pro: Durability Tested and Disassembled
The Xiaomi 17 Pro does have a durability test and teardown done on it through a latest installment from Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything. The focus of the assessment conducted thus was structural integrity, wear resistance, and internal construction-not performance specifications.
Structural Integrity and Durability Results
Subjects by the series of different physical tests followed in measuring survivability.
Scratch Resistance: The usual scratch resistance was exhibited by the aluminum frame and rear glass panel, which showed the marks left by sharp objects like any other devices with the same features.
Bend Test: The Xiaomi 17 Pro is proving it's really good with structural strength. No matter how hard or with what method the attempt was made, there was no way to bend or break it, which means a very sturdy chassis.
Internal Teardown and Assembly Insights
The most important information about its internal design and assembly quality can be found after you disassemble the device.
Opening Procedure: Heating the rear panel allows it to be peeled off in order to get access to internals. However, be careful in doing so, because it is very easy to destroy the delicate cable that connects to the second rear screen.
Assembly Quality: This is a further issue in the teardown after a screw came off with the adhesive tape, saying that other brands such as Apple may have a better finish in this respect.
Battery Removal: The battery was extremely hard to extract due to the force required.
Comparison of Components: One important feature was the size of the vibration motor. The one present in Xiaomi 17 Pro is nearly half the size of the haptic engine in Apple's iPhones.
Overall, the Xiaomi 17 Pro is indeed a structurally sound device, but the teardown indicates where it could be further refined internally.
