Xiaomi 17 series launching on September 25, featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Xiaomi has set a date for the upcoming flagship smartphone line, the Xiaomi 17 series 1, 2. The new phones shall be officially launched on September 25, 2025, in China. With the announcement, the company has released official renders showing the final designs and color options for the devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Standard Xiaomi 17 Design and Confirmed Specs
The standard Xiaomi 17 model in white and sky blue shows some key design changes compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15. The rear camera island has changed into a rounder and squarer shape, which more smoothly integrates with the body of the phone. The standard version does not feature a secondary rear display, unlike the Pro models.
Xiaomi has confirmed a few important specifications for this model: 6.3-inch straight (flat) display, uniform bezels of 1.18 mm, 19.6:9 aspect ratio, and a weight of 191 grams (roughly 0.42 lbs) with corners featuring "ultra-elliptical R-angle corners" for a rounder feel than that of the previous generation.
Design Details and Colors of the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max
The new renders also give insights into the higher-end models. The Xiaomi 17 Pro will grace the shelves in "Cold Smoke Purple", while the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will be draped in "Forest Green".
These Pro models will also feature straight displays and ultra-thin 1.18 mm bezels, along with the same "super-elliptical R corner design" as the standard version. Although Xiaomi did not officially confirm their screen size in this reveal, it is widely believed that the 17 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch panel, while the Pro Max will flaunt a larger 6.73-inch one; other details will likely be uncovered by the teaser ads as the launch date approaches.
