The 1X NEO Humanoid Robot is Now Available for Pre-Order

The robot 1X NEO is now available for pre-order. The California-based company called 1X is offering pre-ordering for the brand-new humanoid robot NEO. Equipped as a household assistant, the robot will set you back $20,000. It can carry out a variety of simple commands to lend a helping hand in the performance of domestic tasks.

How NEO Learns Human-in-the-loop Approach

The learning-set-up training paradigm enables it to make NEO more intelligent and more useful as time goes by. In the early days, many of the robot's actions will be under the remote control of human specialists at 1X. These operators will view the robot's surroundings through its cameras to instruct its movements. This process is paramount for training the robot's neural network, to achieve autonomy at some point in the future.

Privacy-Control and User Control

1X insists on privacy by the user and the control of their own learning process. Owners have some tools, to manage robot operation:

  • Task Monitoring: Owners observe when human operators execute tasks
  • Off-Limit Zones: Users define places in the home where the robot is for-bidden to go
  • Face Blur: The option can blur out the faces of in-home people
  • Consent to Connect: An operator can-not connect to NEO without the owner's say-so.

Capabilities and Features

NEO robot will be controllable through a smartphone app or voice commands. Household chores assigned to it include:

  • Opening doors
  • Washing dishes
  • Delivering things to the user
  • Switching the lights on and off

Colors, Pre-Orders, and Subscription

Three shades will be provided for the robot, specifically beige, gray, and dark brown. Place an order on the official company website.

For those wary of committing to a hefty investment, 1X has an option-the robot can be 'subscribed' on a month-by-month basis at $499.
