In an official statement addressed to the community, the studio said it has "listened to what you said." The primary objective of the delay is to "better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players."
No new release window has, however, been provided, with Aspyr merely stating that further updates will be shared "when the time comes."
Preorders to Be Fully Refunded
The presence of the announcement whereby all present preorders for Deus Ex Remastered will be fully refunded. Anyone who pre-purchased the game should expect the corresponding payback.
What That Means for the Game
The delay shows that Aspyr is truly listening to the community feedback and is willing to invest more time in making the best product it can. Ultimately, although this means an extended wait for fans on the remaster title, the stated intention of the studio is to create a more polished product that fits in better with the expectations of the community for a more modern adaptation of the classic game.
They finished their announcement by thanking fans for their "patience and support."
