Fallout Season 2: Strong Critic Reviews But Flaws in Them
The second Fallout television series season has begun, and the critics, having reviewed the first six episodes, largely concur in their positive opinion of the show and its witty and at times brutal humor. Some, however, were quick to catch some issues concerning the season as a whole.
The Scores Are In
At first, the sources agreed that the overwhelming critical reception was indeed unanimous. Also, the season has gained a really exciting rotten tomatoes score of 98%. Despite the excitement, the score on Metacritic sits at 73 out of 100, reflecting some division in opinions among reviewers.
What Critics Say: The Good and The Bad
There will be most praise for the inherently peculiar tone of the show, its successful attempts to enhance the story universe of Fallout, and an outstanding performance by Justin Theroux as Mr. House. On the contrary, however, quite a common observation against the show has been that it seemed somewhat inconsistent and that it had too many moments spent exploring minor plotlines irrelevant to the main story.
Review Excerpts
Some reviews can be said to sharply define this polar emotion.
"It's still unclear where everything is headed, but if we just take those six episodes in isolation, then this show has definitely earned the right for us to be in for the long haul with its compelling, hilarious, spectacularly cinematic storytelling."
Slashfilm (80/100)
"With all the subplots vying for screen time and with the characters forever diverted on the road to New Vegas, I kept thinking 'incoherent' during the first three episodes. That doesn't mean there's nothing to see here."
Radio Times (60/100)
Release Schedule
Amazon will be releasing a new episode of Fallout each week. According to this schedule, the season finale is expected to air on February 4, 2026.
