HUAWEI Unveils nova 15 Smartphone Series
HUAWEI has finally gone ahead to unveil the new mid-range nova 15 series of smartphones, which includes the nova 15, nova 15 Pro, and nova 15 Ultra. The new models come with a renewed design, proprietary Kirin processors, higher-capacity batteries, and an advanced camera system with some RYYB sensors.

The series portrays quite a number of differences between the three models, ranging from display, performance, and battery to camera capabilities.
Performance and Display
- Processors: The nova 15 Ultra is powered by the Kirin 9010S chip, which is reported to provide an 18% enhancement in performance as opposed to the previous generation Ultra model. The base nova 15 features the Kirin 8020, which is said to be 42% faster than its predecessor.
- Displays: The regular nova 15 comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display and 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro and Ultra versions have bigger 6.84-inch displays.
Camera System
- Main Camera: All three models have a 50-megapixel main camera with an RYYB sensor that is said to be able to absorb much more light. The Pro and Ultra variants have a physically variable aperture for better control of the camera.
- Secondary Lenses:
- nova 15 & 15 Pro: Include a 12MP telephoto lens and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle module.
- nova 15 Ultra: Upgraded to a 50MP ultra-wide-angle module and a telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.
- Front Camera: The Pro and Ultra have a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.
Software
All models run HarmonyOS 6, which brings a whole slew of AI camera features.
Battery and Charging
- Capacity: The nova 15 has a 6,000 mAh battery, whereas the nova 15 Pro and the nova 15 Ultra have a larger 6,500 mAh battery.
- Wired Charging: All three smartphones support 100W fast wired charging.
- Wireless Charging: This is 50W on the nova 15 Ultra.
Design and Durability
- Build: The nova 15 Pro and Ultra models have a special back panel texture with purple and green color options, which presents contrasting reflections of light. The standard colors black and white have normal finishing.
- Durability: The nova 15 Ultra is IP68 and IP69 rated for water and dust resistance.
Price and Availability
HUAWEI is yet to announce the pricing and date for the launch of the nova 15 series.
