IO Interactive Pushes Back 007 First Light Release to May 27, 2026
IO Interactive has announced a two-month delay to its upcoming James Bond title, 007 First Light. The latest release date was set for March 26, with the change now set for May 27, 2026.
Reason for the Delay
Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, said in a public announcement that the delay was for "additional polishing." The studio referred to the game as "our most ambitious project to date" and said, with that extra time, the team could "further polish and refine the experience" so that it meets the quality players expect on day one.
The developer noted that the game itself is progressing well, with the entire game already playable from start to finish.
About 007 First Light
The game is an origin story for Bond, allowing players to participate in some of his early missions. This Bond is an entirely fresh interpretation and does not draw from any past incarnation of the agent.
Patrick Gibson-starring in the newly released Dexter: Original Sin-will give life to this new Bond. We expect to hear more about the game in early 2026.
