Larian Studios to Host Q&A Session on AI Controversy
In the wake of public controversy, Larian Studios is holding a Q&A session for the fans early next year in 2026. Following the public controversy, the studio head Swen Vincke confirmed that the team uses small neural networks to do tiny, unimportant tasks during the pre-production stages of development.
Although he did clarify that there is no AI in the next Divinity title, the words he did say are at the heart of much public perturbation. In a fresh post, Vincke has not turned up with an apology for making use of GenAI but reiterated his perspectives on evaluation of new tools.
It would be irresponsible not to evaluate new technologies. But creative processes at the studio are in constant evolution, and we'll change things where change is necessary or inconsistent with our values.

To provide answers to the community, Vincke will join his team in hosting a public Q&A discussion in which various employees from different departments will explain to the audience how AI is used in their work. Then, the audience will be left with an opportunity to ask questions from the developers themselves.
The conversation could lead to other subjects such as the game's progress, which is part of the new Divinity game. Date and time of the event will be further announced.
Last, both Larian and Vincke also received a boost from Daniel Vávra, the father of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Vávra said that his team is planning to implement this technology in gaming as well as better and more detailed experiences for gamers.
