MetaComputing Releases High Performance Arm AI PC with Framework Compatibility
MetaComputing has released a high-performance Arm AI PC with Framework compatibility. Founded in 2024, the Swiss tech firm MetaComputing has now launched the AI PC with some promising prospect for the open computing ecosystem. Announced on December 4, 2025, this hardware package integrates the powerful CIX Technology CP8180 SoC and is designed to operate with the modular Framework Laptop 13 seamlessly. And with a base price of $599 USD, it is aimed at developers and enthusiasts looking for efficient Arm-based Linux solutions.
Performance Powered by CIX CP8180
At the heart of this new system is the CIX Technology CP8180 System-on-Chip (SoC), made on a 6nm process. This hardware is specifically designed to deliver powerful AI capabilities to the edge, providing up to 45 TOPS of heterogenous AI computing power.

Modular Design and Flexibility
A strong feature this release boasts of is a collaboration with Framework, whose laptops are repairable and modular. The MetaComputing AI PC operates as a mainboard to be installed into the Framework Laptop 13 chassis or can instead be used inside the co-branded Framework and Cooler Master Case for use as a standalone desktop.
Nirav Patel, Founder of Framework, emphasized that this is the first-ever Arm-powered Mainboard for the Framework Laptop 13, calling it an "excellent onramp for developers and makers."
Price and Availability
The MetaComputing AI PC is now ready for purchase from the MetaComputing Store, starting from a price of $599 USD. Following its launch at the CIX Ecosystem Conference at the end of November 2025, the partners Arm and CIX Technology reinforced the positioning of the device as the centerpiece of enhancing the Arm ecosystem for consumer computing.
