Warface "Bastion" Update Delivers Major Winter Content
Some important winter updates for Warface have been given the title of "Bastion" by the developers. The new season brings in a new story-driven special operation, more weaponry and upgrades to the arsenal, as well as the return of the classic Snow Bastion operation with revised mechanics.
New Special Operations Rescue of General Wharton
The main mission within the update involves rescuing General Lee Wharton, the founder of the Warface organization. The operations occur on a heavily fortified island located in northern Europe in a series of stages:
- Breaching the coastal security line.
- Taking the key bridge.
- Clearing city streets.
- Moving via under-the-ground tunnels to a centre of power of secrecy.
During the mission, environmental effects with fog and dynamic weather would obscure visibility on the enemy units. It will consist of two missions a multiplayer segment whereby players cooperate and strategize, and a single-player where the player gets to control General Wharton during the escape. The opponents here consist of Labyrinth fighters, large robots, and some as-of-now undisclosed mysterious entities.
The Return of the Snow Bastion Operation
The "Snow Bastion" operation is back, which has become a classic among the communities and is being put in the winter. According to feedback from users, several adjustments are made to the format:
- The operations Spearhead, Ambush, and Zenith will be treated as stand-alone missions.
- Difficulty settings have been totally revised.
- Rewards earned are higher than a significant level compared with other basic operations.
Thus, the three missions can be done in a Marathon in Campaign mode.
Arsenal Updates and New Weapons
The Bastion season is a major overhaul of the in-game arsenal. The new weapon brought in is the ASh-12, which is a heavy-caliber assault rifle designed for medium- to long-range combat and high base damage.
Four existing weapons also received performance upgrades:
- M249 Para: A light MG that gains accuracy during prolonged firing.
- Micro-Roni CAA: A weapon that can switch between pistol and carbine modes.
- Fabarm XLR5 Prestige: A shotgun for close-quarter actions.
- S&W M&P R8: A revolver with red-dot optics.
New Seasonal Rewards and Progression
New seasonal rewards have been added to the progression systems:
- PvE Players: Can earn Gargoyle series camos for six different weapons and the Butterfly Knife.
- Ranked Players: Can earn Tournament series camos for five weapons and a new Hunter's Knife.
- Battle Pass: Provides "Stained Glass" and "Conjuring" series camouflage, "Maswerk" series skins for four weapons, and 20,000 parts for customization.
The Bastion update has brought new content for PvE and competitive players alike, and it coincided with the recent return of the game to Steam for the CIS region.
