Minisforum Updates MS-02 Ultra Workstation with Unreleased Intel CPU

The necessary confirms on the next version of the MS-02 Ultra mini workstation to be fitted with a yet-to-be-released Intel processor were granted at CES 2026 by Minisforum. This update comes roughly six weeks after the device's first global launch.

New Processor-Intel Core Ultra 9 295HX

The main update is the Intel Core Ultra 9 295HX processor. Minisforum has not yet specified the performance changes over the current top-tier Core Ultra 9 285HX. The original MS-02 Ultra was offered with Intel's Arrow Lake-HX series processors: the Core Ultra 5 235HX, Core Ultra 7 255HX, and Core Ultra 9 285HX.

The Core Ultra 9 295HX has not been officially acknowledged by Intel. It is thought to belong to the forthcoming Arrow Lake HX Refresh series and, as such, it will have a higher clock speed compared to the currently operational models.

Retained Features and a Major Change

The majority of features on the MS-02 Ultra will be carried over to the new model, with one major omission.

  • Retained - Two USB4 V2 ports.
  • Retained - PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for full-size GPU expansion.
  • Missing - Ethernet at 25 Gbps, which was standard equipment on the previous model with a Core Ultra 9 285HX, has become absent from the Core Ultra 9 295HX refresh.

Availability

Minisforum still has not listed the new version of the MS-02 Ultra on the official online shop. More information will be released soon.
