The NAOX EEG Headphones Were Recently Launched at CES 2026

The French startup NAOX has presented a prototype of its Wave wireless headphones capable of tracking brain activity through electroencephalography. So, the idea of NAOX with this technology was taking it out from clinical settings into the personal life of a user.

Being Evolved into Consumer Products

It builds on the company's existing in-ear electroencephalography technology in conjunction with the NAOX Link NX01 medical device. This device is useful for extended monitoring of the brain, which could be an alternative to using uncomfortable EEG caps in the clinics.

How the NAOX Wave Works

The consumer version, NAOX Wave, looks almost like a standard pair of wireless audio headphones. This device can analyze brain activity during work, relaxation, and sleeping. The data in the mobile application can tell the user how their mental state, sleep quality, and cognitive activity exist at that moment, allowing them to monitor their brain health in real-time.

Launch and Technology Licensing

The NAOX Wave headphones are targeted to launch in late 2026. Besides the sale of its product, the company is also intent on licensing the technology to other manufacturers of audio devices, who could then embed the EEG functionality into headphones under their own brands.
