The Epic Games Store 2025 Year in Review shows that third party developers achieved record breaking results during the past year. Players of third party PC titles spent 57% more than previous levels which resulted in total spending of $400 million. PC users spent $1.16 billion through the storefront which shows a 6% increase from the previous year.

Epic maintained its free games program which provides complimentary games throughout 2025. The program remains a primary driver for user acquisition and game discovery

Epic introduced a significant modification to its revenue system during June 2025. The first $1 million of annual developer net revenue belongs to developers who retain 100% of the revenue until their revenue achieves the 88/12 revenue share threshold. Developers who implement their own third party payment system for in game purchases will not incur any revenue fee from Epic.
The store catalog has surpassed 6,000 titles, and the launch of Epic Web Shops now allows developers to sell in game content directly to players on both PC and mobile via cross platform web storefronts.

Epic plans to redevelop Store Launcher core systems to enhance loading times and system reliability which will start its deployment process in Summer 2026. The upcoming release will introduce these features
- Social Enhancements The development process currently includes community spaces, avatars, player profiles, and private messaging functionalities.
- Communication The implementation of voice chat and game independent parties will begin during Q2 2026 period.
- Mobile Expansion Regional storefronts with localized discovery will launch in the fall, following iOS expansions in Japan (March) and Brazil (June).
- Fortnite Integration A new program will allow developers to offer Fortnite cosmetics to players who purchase their games on EGS.
